What are GLP-1 medications?

GLP-1s (glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists) are prescription medications that help regulate blood sugar, appetite, and metabolism. They’re FDA-approved for type 2 diabetes and, in some cases, chronic weight management. MedChoice offers compounded semaglutide or tirzepatide alongside the FDA-approved Ozempic and Zepbound. These formulations are prepared by licensed U.S. compounding pharmacies which are LegitScript certified.

Please note: Compounded medications are not FDA-approved and may differ in formulation, safety, and effectiveness from brand-name drugs like Ozempic or Zepbound. All prescriptions are reviewed by licensed providers.

Am I eligible for GLP-1 treatment?

Eligibility is determined through a clinical intake and consult. You may not be eligible for GLP-1 treatment if you have:

  • A personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC)
  • A diagnosis of Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN2)
  • A known allergy or hypersensitivity to GLP-1 medications or their components
  • Are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
  • A history of pancreatitis
  • Severe gastrointestinal disorders, including gastroparesis
  • Diabetic retinopathy or other advanced eye disease
  • Gallbladder disease or a history of gallstones
  • Mood disorders or eating disorders that may be impacted by appetite suppression

We screen carefully to ensure safety and compliance with FDA guidelines.

Remember: If the provider determines it is unsafe for you to receive GLP-1 treatment, you will be refunded the amount you paid for the medication.
